Hotel Eden au Lac, Echternach

Eden au Lac is a five star hotel in Echternach, Luxembourg. It’s situated at 35 km from Luxembourg City, right at the border with Germany (25 km from Trier). I could say this is an awesome hotel and stop here, but I feel like it deserves more.

You would expect from a five star hotel to be nice and cozy, but Eden au Lac really impressed us. We stayed for a night and that was our only regret.

Very clean hotel, with large sized rooms, restaurant, terrace, beautiful surroundings and a wonderful wellness center, including an indoor pool, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, three saunas, turkish bath, chillout rooms and so on. They also have a leisure games center, with billiards table and more.

I think the indoor pool needs a special place in this review, as it was just wonderful, with warm water and even an underwater fitness bicycle. Too bad the outdoor pool was closed when we went there, it’s only opened from July to September (pretty logic for Luxembourg’s weather).

The saunas were also great, all large enough to make you feel comfortable, this is one of them:

The included breafast was a rich bouffet with plenty of delicious choices and, more important, you could eat it in the restaurant inside surrounded by large windows, or even outside on the terrace, where you could enjoy both the impressive views and the clean air from the surrounding forest.

All in all, a great hotel, I would gladly recommend it to anyone for a few days of total relaxation.

We booked it on booking.com and got a great deal, with breakfast and spa access included.
